The company was founded in 1983 by Alberto Bardazzi, an independent, courageous, and visionary figure in a textile landscape that at the time considered jersey virtually irrelevant. He was the first to understand and develop this product's infinite potential. In the early years, his business focused primarily on a provincial scale, with Prato's ready-to-wear mills that in the 1980s were a powerful force, capable of absorbing all production. But the real explosion occurred in the 1990s: Bardazzi's fabrics began to gain acclaim nationally and internationally, forcing Alberto to expand his business twice in just a few years.
These were golden years for Made in Italy fabrics, and even high fashion began to note Alberto's creations and these innovative, fluid, highly feminine fabrics. In 2000, Il Sole 24 Ore included Alberto Bardazzi in its list of the top 500 Italian industrial companies. But just as production reached its historic peak and Alberto's successes piled up one after another, something unpredictable happened. Alberto's premature death in 2003, following a painful illness, forced his family to rethink everything in search of a new, difficult-to-find balance. However, despite lacking the talent and tenacity of its founder, in an increasingly competitive environment where Jersey had finally established itself as a cornerstone of fashion and competitors were everywhere and fierce, the company rallied around its key figures and continued its journey with its head held high, celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2023. Today, it maintains commercial relationships with all the major fashion brands and has a sales network in all major Western and Asian countries.
